Item Description

The girl with the dragon tattoo is back. Stieg Larsson's seething heroine, Lisbeth Salander, once again finds herself paired with journalist Mikael Blomkvist on the trail of a sinister criminal enterprise. Only this time, Lisbeth must return to the darkness of her own past (more specifically, an event coldly known as "All the Evil") if she is to stay one step ahead--and alive. The Girl Who Played with Fire is a break-out-in-a-cold-sweat thriller that crackles with stunning twists and dismisses any talk of a sophomore slump. Fans of Larsson's prior work will find even more to love here, and readers who do not find their hearts racing within the first five pages may want to confirm they still have a pulse. Expect healthy doses of murder, betrayal, and deceit, as well as enough espresso drinks to fuel downtown Seattle for months. --Dave Callanan

5 stars A great sequel 2010-09-06

Reviewer: Wan Kim

The sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a much more action-packed story. The focus is put more on the mysterious Lisbeth Salander and who she actually is. I found it to be a better read since I didnt have to wade through something like the Vanger family history that's really of little relvance to Lisbeth's story. The cliffhanger ending makes getting the final book of the trilogy a must.

5 stars Super book. Great seller. 2010-09-05

After reading the first book in this trilogy, I was completely hooked. The second book provided much more action and excitement that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I found it to be easier to read. I highly recommend this book, and I also recommend this seller.

4 stars The Girl Who Played With Fire 2010-09-05

Reviewer: PJA

The story starts out hooking you into the world of a young, highly intelligent woman of whom those claiming to know her actually find out how little they really do know about this quirky, aloof heroine.

An engaging plot with characters that keep the interest level high.

Very intriguing and grabbing. Got into it right away. A little fantastical at the end, but by then I was routing for everyone to find the bad guys! What a surprising twist of plot.

2 stars Too many disturbing images for my taste 2010-09-05

I bought the series of three books because everyone seemed to like the books, but the vivid descriptions of violence to girls and women was too hard for me to read. I skipped over those parts and actually quit reading the books. Read the beginning and endings and that was enough. The detailed description of what happened to the girls and women was not entertainment to me. Sure the perpetrators were punished but it seemed the author lingered too long on pornographic details. Sorry, I hated the books. Kept trying to see why they were so popular though.
